This stained glass maple leaf is the perfect addition to your fall decor collection! Not to mention it would look especially festive displayed in a window for your guests to see as they're invited in! It can also be hung on a wall instead of in a window, either on its own as a statement piece, or surrounded by other decor as a warm pop of color. However you choose to display it, this maple leaf is sure to shine and bring the colors of the changing leaves into your home, without also bringing the mess!
This piece is made of multiple pieces of glass cut from large sheets of glass in varying fall-inspired colors. Held up to the light, you can see that the sections of the leaf itself are all transparent, and the piece for the stem is opaque. In addition to the varying colors, the glass I used also has varying textures: some pieces are smooth like a window pane, some are "seedy", and others have a sort of watery texture, which causes the light passing through to refract differently, creating beautiful patterns both within the glass and on whatever surface the "shadow" casts on. The individual pieces of glass are prepped to be attached together using the copper foil method and then they're soldered together.
Included with this stained glass maple leaf is a 3mm, silver, stainless steel curb chain attached to the 2 outer points of the leaf, making it a breeze to hang in your home once it arrives. The entire piece weighs approximately 8oz, so you won't need any special hardware to hang it from; a simple adhesive wall-mounted hook or a strong suction cup for your window should suffice.
